Introduction
At first, I could only understand the part about the letter to the self. It felt like it matched where I was when I first heard it, so I kept it on repeat.
When I started translating this song, and looking at my recent experiences, I realized I’m in a very similar state to what Yuika was feeling back then. My current self is just like this song: full of confusion. What kind of person will I become? What does the future look like? Where should I go?
Let’s stay positive. Just like the lyrics say, I’ll try to accept myself, move past the confusion, and just find something I enjoy doing.
Finally, thanks to those who encouraged me, and those who didn’t say much but supported me through their actions.
2025.01.27 Sang this song. Didn’t take a photo because it wasn’t the original video; felt a bit meaningless. Since it mirrors my current mindset, I really felt that “lost in the future” vibe while singing. Putting it into words—or rather, singing it out—made things feel complicated, but it was a great experience.
2025.05.26 Sang it again. Took a quick photo this time. Thinking about my own growth, it’s a truly strange and wonderful song.

Lyrics
Thank you for listening to such an immature song of mine.
It seems I’ll be becoming an immature adult very soon.
It’s kind of funny, isn’t it?
To tell you the truth,
I intended to write a song that was more forward-looking.
But I couldn’t write it.
I’m not yet at the point where I can support someone else.
I guess I wasn’t that strong. I’m sorry.
Dear future me, right there,
What are you doing? How are you living?
Dear present me, right here,
What should I do to keep on living?
I once wrote things like “You’re cool because I like you” or “I’ll be by your side.”
Or “I stole your heart without permission.”
If that’s the case, I should have written a song
As kind as you are.
The truth is, I just want to live doing the things I love.
But that’s not exactly what you’d call a “smart” way to live.
Even if it’s in vain, even if it’s meaningless,
I have to leave this place now. I’m sorry.
Dear future me, right there,
What kind of adult have you become? How are you living?
Dear present me, right here,
What kind of adult should I say I want to become?
“Goodbye” makes things too sad.
So let me say, “See you later.”
Even if someday I can no longer write songs like this one,
Please don’t be angry with me.
Dear past me, my current self
Is fulfilling the dreams we always had.
Dear present me,
It’s okay to sing a song as pathetic as this.
Because that’s who I am.
Dear future me, right there,
What kind of beautiful world is unfolding before you?
Dear present me, right here and now,
I was happier than in any other world.
Thank you for listening to such an immature song of mine.
From now on, I’ll start preparing to become an immature adult.
“Well then, see you later.”
